God’s Number

Rubix cube gif.

God had been a puzzle recreational mathematicians and speed cubers have been trying to solve ever since the discovery of Rubik’s Cube. In God’s algorithm, God’s number is 26 in the quarter turn metric (QTM) and 20 in the half turn metric (face turn metric), which means that the minimum number of turns required to solve the mystery of God in Rubik’s Cube is either 20 or 26.

Note: Some definitions of God’s number state that it is the number of maximum moves or turns. The reason is that a solution is maximum if the sequence of moves is as minimum as possible. Although 20 is the least number of moves in the half turn metric system, 20 is the optimum attainable.

God is 26.
God = G + O + D
         = 7 + 15 + 4
         = 26

26 (God) is Qi.
Qi = Q + I
     = 17 + 9
     = 26

20 is Chi.
Chi = C + H + I
       = 3 + 8 + 9

Since 26 is God’s number in the quarter turn metric and 20 is God’s number in the half turn metric (HTM), God’s number is qi or chi.

QTM (quater turn metric) = 26 (Qi)

HTM (half turn metric) = 20 (Chi)

The sum of the quarter turn metric and half turn metric is 46.

QTM + HTM = Qi + Chi
                       = 26 + 20
                       = 46

46 is I Ching hexagram formed by two intersecting equilateral triangles. The two equilateral triangles are HTM  (chi) and their area of intersection is QTM (qi).

HTM and QTM are yin and yang respectively because the two equilateral triangles represent broken and the hexagon formed by them represents unbroken, which means that HTM and QTM are the Tao symbol of yin and yang derived by recreational mathematicians. There remains a third God’s number.

God’s Number = HTM + QTM
                           = 20 + 26
                           = Yin + Yang
                           = Tao

In other words, 46 is the Tao at this stage. Since qi is 26 (God) and chi is God in Igbo language, Tao is God and yin and yang are the two sides of God.

God is life, yin is black life and yang is white life.

The two equilateral triangles are binary digits (bits) and decimal digits (dits), and the hexagon (the area of intersection of the equilateral triangles) is the hexagon representing the 26 letters of the English alphabet.

Hexagon = 26 (Alphabet)
                  = Alpha (QTM)

HTM (20) is the split side of a cowry shell, QTM (26) is the smooth side of the cowry shell, and 46 (the sum of the split side and the smooth side) is the  cowry shell.
